This was a wonderful day workshop at a primary school in Rottingdean. A small circus troop taught a 1/3rd of the school circus skills in rotation. I had an hour or so with each group to make individual circus inspired blocks on felt, with bondawebbed cut out shapes and embroidery. The kids were brilliant and far more skilled than previous schools I'd worked at because they had an excellent textile teacher and small classes.
In the afternoon I sewed the blocks together into strips and in the evening the circus and a selected group of students performed. It was wonderful. We also got chance to show the banner strips to the parents.
I look forward to seeing the banners finished next time I'm in Rottingdean (a beautiful seaside town in East Sussex and my favourite beach since moving to Hove)
